This is a wonderful system. My son loves having the ability to play online for free against his freinds. He also loves being able to demo games before actually buying the game. We used a regular bluetooth headset and linked it with his machine and now he talks to his freinds while he plays. It saves the family from having to hear all the conversations, not to mention it has really cut down on our cell phone minutes :) We recently had Netfilx send us a free cd that will allow us to streem netflix movies directly to our TV from the internet connection throught the Playstation 3. Thre are also many produc / game enhancements you can purchase that will add to thier online experience. This is by far the best gaming machine we have ever purchased. We also have an Xbox, Play Station II and Wii and he hardly ever plays them. The overwelming aspect is the online game play. There is no fee for online. It is free and wonderful. I highly recommend this unit.

LFG MMO Developer Awards Nominations Begin

Looking For Group Expo is coming to Minneapolis this June, and the MMO Developer Awards will be a big part of the event. These awards give the behind-the-scenes talent a chance to shine and be recognized for what they do.

Ten categories will be covered in these awards, including a few not related to MMOs such as Best Web Comic and Best Offline Game. Of course, the primary focus will be on MMO gaming with categories such as MMO of the Year, Outstanding New Content, Best Cinematic, and Best Game Design, to name a few. Do you think your favorite MMO is a shoo-in for one of the categories? Nominations for the awards come straight from the fans, so this is your chance to make your voice heard. From now until April 30th, LFG will be accepting nominations for all categories via partner sites. The top five nominees in each category will go before the judges, and they'll announce the winners at LFGX on June 26th. Check out LFG's MMO Developer Awards page for the details.

XNA Game Studio 4.0 includes Windows Phone support

Microsoft took yet another step today in convincing us that Windows Phone 7 will be a legitimate gaming platform. The company just unveiled XNA Game Studio 4.0, which, in addition to supporting PC and Xbox 360, will also let designers make games for the new mobile platform. Besides being great news for indies, it also means that you'll be able to use your gamertag and Avatar on the phone, as well as unlock Xbox Live Achievements.

You can read more about the technical integration of XNA and WP7 on Microsoft program manager Michael Klucher's blog. Hopefully we'll have even more details for you as the tech is rolled out during GDC.
