We purchased the X-Box 360 for our son for Christmas. We thought it would be a good alternative for the Nintendo DS & Playstation 2 he was using. We also have a Wii, but he had gotten bored with it. Little did we know that the X-Box is so much more than a gaming system. Although it's primary purpose is to play video games, you can also get on the internet and no memory card is not needed to save your spot in a game. On several of the games we've played, the graphic's are so realistic it looks like you are in a movie. I am no longer tripping over controller wires since the controllers are wireless. The batteries seem to last a pretty long time, we have only replaced them twice since Christmas and the y are used daily. This has also solved the issue of our dogs running into the wires and pulling the controllers out of the console. The console is sleek & easily fit into our entertainment center. We have heard rumors of the system overheating, but we have not had that issue. ...

I have two teenage sons. Both have different game consoles. I being the older one in the house, lol, have the PS2. And of course from time to time, I may try to play a little Guitar Hero, or something like that. And of course, watch a movie. However, my sons upgraded last year at Christmas, and I have been able to see of what use they are etc... I noticed that for my younger son, I have to purchase a card for him to play live on games, and join 'parties'. Yet, I never had to do that for my older son. And he gets the same access. Also, my younger son has a problem with his console overheating from time to time. No complaints, as I am glad he has it, because I definately can't afford another. But we haven't had that problem out of the PS3. And the movie quality is great as well. They both have their good points, but being the older adult.. if I had to chose one, it would be the PS3. I am not the most tech savvy, but I try.

I have both an Xbox 360 and a Ps3 and the xbox is not nearly as good. PS3 did what Xbox did to sony when PS2 came out; it waited about a year to release so that it could tell what the competition was doing, how it was doing and how to better it. Ps3 did the exact thing. Xbox, the one I have, does NOT have HDMI so I am stuck with simple component cables which cannot give me the full 1080P resolution that I wnat like my Ps3. The games are mediocre and subpar compared to sony. There are some good titles with a lot of gameplay, but it seems that it is waning and there may be a new system coming out. The only main plus is the online game play. You do need to pay a monthly subscription fee but it is not that much and you save money if you pay for it one year at a time. I usually hop on Call of Duty or halo with some friedns and we go and kick it online playing people across the universe!

I thought that video games could not get any better and then in steps Sony and the PLaystation 3! It is the ULTIMATE gaming system because it brings everything needed to the table. It has SICK graphics because it is able to output everything into 1080P and this is done through an HDMI cable, which makes the blacks look blacker and the colors pop. I do not know what I would do if the games were NOT in 1080P. Then because it has these capabilites it has FULL 7.1 surround sound! It is able to broadcast into these speakers that NO ONE has, I have NEVER even seen 7.1 sold in stores! On top of this it plays Blu Ray movies! It was clear from the beginning that Sony and Blu Ray was going to beat out Microsoft and HD DVDs, and anyone who bet against Sony is not a electronics person. Anyway, it also has built in wi-fi so I am able to connect to my home network in NO time and buy all the cool new tracks for rock band in a jiffy!

My sister got a wii but I think that I am the only one in the family that uses it! It is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun!!! I cannot even explain it! I thought that the sports pack that originally came with it was sooooo dang cool and that the sensitivity was really well thought out. It goes where you do and is as accurate as I thought it could be! Then I bought the new EA Sports Grand Slam tennis and I was not able to be as motionful as I wanted! :( So then I read some online blog posts and found that this, among many other sports games like Tiger woods, you need to purchase the Wii Motion Plus! Another contraption that I need to spend money on but BOY is it worth it! This is what MAKES this tennis game. When i hooked it up and started playing i was IMMEDIATELY better than before, like 100x better! I coudl not beleive it and will never play again without it

Call of duty 2 modern warfare is a great game. The first time i played it i got shocked by the graphics and all the variety of weapons. The gameplay was great along with having it as an online game. Even after you complete the game campaign you can still play it online. Comparing this game to any other games like medal of honor, counter strike, or any other is not very tough. Lots of games dont really have a story to them like cod2. I played the campaign and completed, but i still had co-op missions to do which i liked because i can play with another friend next to me. Even so, it was still nice to play online but at some point i wanted to do co-op missions with those tougher missions after you beat normal,veteran. I'd have to say my favorite part of call of duty 2 was probably the variety of weapons i'm a huge fan of ak-47, famas, and striker, m4, and desert eagle. Even the details in grenades how they would roll back when you throw it is good.

Sony Playstation 3, XBOX 360, Nintendo Wii are all the most common consoles out there. The Playstation 3 has not let me down, i personally recommend the playstation 3 because it has everythin you would need and more than you would need. From video games to internet. You can even purchase games online and videos. My favorite part is obviously the blu-ray dvd player incorporated in the ps3. Playstation 3 has the specs for awesome graphics. It all depends on the game companies on how well they do. Xbox 360 has had so many issues that its just pathetic, and i cant argue that xbox has lot of the best games out there, but personally i'd rather choose the ps3 which is durable,reliable, and its got potential. I love the wireless remotes they are awesome. Ps3 has lots of accessories that come in handy for real gamers. The wii has gotten popular because of their family activities game, and i like that. I still would recommend the ps3 because i just dont know much if the wii's.

Wii! I'm sure you've heard of it plenty of times. But, is it worth the hype?
Yes!
This small little machine is quite amazing. The way the disc is inserted into the console(sideways) is unique. The graphics are far above other video game consoles and the other capabilities are a major plus. (connect to internet, play other Nintendo games on it, download games)
The Wii sits nicely on a stand and takes up very little space.
One of the best things about it is the controllers are wireless!!
On the Wii, you can play games like they're real! Stand up and play baseball, golf, bowling, mini golf, and go through the motions just like a real game! It's more fun than just sitting there moving your thumbs.
Technology has come such a far way, and the Nintendo Wii is proof of that.
Another cool feature is you can insert a memory card, say, from your camera, and all of your pictures can be viewed and played with on screen. You can make a puzzle out of your pictures, change colors, draw silly things on...
